From kayaks to canoes to boards, if it paddles you're welcome to get in on the fun. This is not a lesson or tour, but a casual group of people who paddle regularly.
In 2024: Social Paddle from Pacifica Swartz Bay (Canoe Cove Marina) are on April 5th, May 3rd, June 7th, July 5th, August 7th and September 6th. Explore the incredible Gulf Islands that are teeming with marine and wildlife. All paddlers MUST sign up in advance for the Swartz Socials, as we have limited spaces available, even for those bringing their own boat. All kayaks must be sea worthy - must have sealed bulkheads, and be at least 13' long. We recommend this social for regular paddlers, not first timers. If you are brand new to kayaking or paddleboarding, we'd love to welcome you in one of our lessons, or a small tour group.
The second to fifth Fridays each month we'll enjoy a relaxed paddle around Brentwood Bay, Tod Inlet, or the Saanich inlet. This is a more beginner friendly area, and it's great if you've taken a lesson, and want a low key, safe area to put your skills to practice.
If using your own boats, launch from the Verdier Park public beach and ramp. Only Pacifica rentals launch from Pacifica's dock, to ease congestion.
This event takes place every Friday night, in April and September from 5:50 to 7:30,
and May through August from 6:20 pm - 8:00 pm.
Equipment Rentals for this event are discounted!
COST: $35 + tax Kayaks, or $30 + tax for SUPs (includes board/boat, paddle and safety equipment)
Those with their own sea worthy vessel can enjoy this weekly event completely FREE!
Year Round Social Paddle Events
There is an incredible community of paddlers around Pacifica Paddle, who started paddling together on Friday evenings in the summer. We're not limiting ourselves to one season though... join us for some fun events through other seasons. These paddling events will vary in length, and are more weather dependent in the winter months.
