Self-Love and Acceptance - the first step
Don’t look back, you’re not going that way!
It’s time to leave the past in the past, no matter where you were, who you were, what you were doing – that was you then, and you are becoming a completely new you, now! Focusing on the past is not the way forward. You don’t have to burn any bridges (unless you want to!) Accepting what is and focusing your gaze on the possibilities ahead is the way forward. That acceptance starts with you. Who you are today is who you are meant to be. Fighting it only creates resistance, and resistance slows down your progress.
If you try to squint your eyes and look too far down the path ahead, you’ll miss the sights and sounds that await you on the path. Just one foot in front of the other, day by day, at a slow and steady pace is all that is needed for growth and progress.
You are here because the world needed one of you. Even if you have a twin sibling, you are still uniquely you, and the world needs you. We all collect battle scars as we journey through life. Maybe you are looking in the mirror and not appreciating what you see. Those scars and so-called imperfections are the map markers to where you have been, and how you have been brought to this point. What you see can change! Getting yourself out of the mindset of ‘can’t and won’t’ is part of the battle, and you can fight that battle, and win.
So, today, if the thought of massive progressive and incredible growth on this journey of healthy living feels like a bit much, don’t despair. You can just be. Be who you are and know that you are becoming – becoming a new and upgraded version of yourself. It is happening, and it will happen. All you have to do is be willing to take that first step in embracing yourself just as you are! Then, you can see clearly to focus on more distant vistas. Then, you can listen for the sounds of intuition and guidance leading you to the next step in the journey.
For now, just breathe, and stretch, and commit to being present, just as you are, where you are, and know that you are taking this first step – and by taking this first step, you will be guided to the next, and the next. Feel safe and supported as you reach out, lift up your foot, and set it down in front of the other, ready to embark on the journey to the new you!
