We specialize in rebuilding and repairing heritage cedar/canvas and cedar/glass canoes and wood kayaks. We also rebuild heritage canoes.

Typical jobs include:

  • restoring problems caused by rot
  • replacing gunnels
  • replacing ribs
  • rebuilding damage and fractures caused by being dropped, crushed or damaged in storms
  • replacing canvas covering

Wood Paddles

We repair all kinds of wood paddles, including hybrids. Dragonboat, outrigger and kayak paddles trimmed to length and resized to fit you.

Rebuilding a Red Cedar Canoe

This canoe was brought to us as a bare hull with the outside finished only. We prepared the inside and applied fiberglass. Then we installed 1 piece ash gunnels with stainless steel fasteners, and solid western fir decks. Finally, we installed seats, thwart and yoke with stainless steel hardware. The outcome was a beautiful red cedar wood/glass canoe.

Work Orders & Written Estimate

When we receive your canoe or kayak we will prepare a work order and provide you with a written estimate. This may require a little time so please be prepared to leave your boat with us. We need to examine your boat carefully to properly assess damage and prepare an accurate estimate.
